Class Levels

Water Babies Program

6:1 ratio with caregiver

Please note that some Water Babies classes may be mixed level, but it’s important to be aware of where your child is at in their swim journey with regard to their age.

Water Baby Class, 3-12 months

Breath Control, Balance, Buoyancy

Caregiver and baby will be encouraged to establish a relaxed demeanor while acclimating to and bonding in the water. We will work together on harnessing baby’s natural breath control through guided movement. Caregivers will be taught how to use cadence and cues to calmly initiate skills such as water over baby’s head, gentle submersions and long sways to back floats.

Water Tot Class, 13-24 months

Consistency, Reinforcement, Resilience

Crucial safety techniques such as how to safely enter and exit the pool will be introduced and reinforced each class. Students will practice voluntarily catching and holding breath for new skills such as front floating. Proper body positioning will be practiced. Caregivers will learn to assist students with sliding into the water and calmly turning and floating to find their safety wall.

NOTE: We may see some swim regression at this age as children often work through various physical and emotional changes in this monumental time in their development; consistency and reinforcement will be the keys to our water tots’ resilience in their swim lessons.
